ELM Personalized
Create a customized collection of the ELM databases most relevant to your
students or patrons. ELM Personalized gives Minnesota libraries and schools
the ability to create a page on the ELM website specific to their institution
that contains library branding and contact information, custom-selected
ELM databases, and personalized database descriptions. And it only takes
about 15 minutes to set up.
How it works
-
Set up an account using your library’s Minitex MyLibrary log-in. (2 minutes)
-
Step One: Describe your library. Add your library name, contact
information, and logo, if you'd like. (2 minutes)
-
Step Two: Select the ELM databases your students or patrons will find most useful.
You can list databases one at a time on your personalized page or select topics and
content types to show in your drop-down menus. (10 minutes)
-
Step Three: Customize database descriptions (optional). If you'd like to
describe the databases you’ve selected in a way different than we have, you can easily do so. (10 minutes)
-
Get your personalized URL. You'll have a page on the ELM site that you
can share with your students and patrons (for example, www.elm4you.org/libraries/mylibrary).
-
Maintain your account. You can always change the databases you have listed or change
descriptions of those databases by signing in to your account. You can also get basic
usage statistics on your account page.
